This week, the U.K. officially approved Pfizer‘s coronavirus vaccine. The country is set to begin the rollout of the vaccines in the next few weeks. However, both Pfizer and Moderna are still waiting for FDA approval to begin distributing these vaccines in the United States.

Since these vaccines started being developed earlier this year, many questions have been raised. Some are questioning the effectiveness of these vaccines due to the short length of time they were developed. Meanwhile, others believe that the vaccines should have longer trial periods to see what the possible long term impacts are.

Now, Black Panther star Letitia Wright has shared her thoughts on the new COVID-19 vaccines. This week, she posted an anti-vaxxer video on Twitter and then began tweeting in support of the video’s stance

The shared video comes from the YouTube channel On The Table in which the presenter discusses his doubts about vaccines in general. He also expresses apparent doubts regarding climate change, accusations of China being responsible for the spread of COVID-19 and transphobic comments among others.

Wright has since deleted the video tweet, but that didn’t stop “Letitia Wright” from trending on Twitter this week.

Following the backlash, Wright posted a few more tweets explaining her reasoning for sharing the video. She says she is just unsure of what is in the COVID-19 vaccines and agrees with the point made in the video that we have a right to ask about what it’s made of.

please note I never said anything. I simply posted a video and I think his point of asking about it before is valid.

“make an example out of me for asking if something is right for my body before taking it. interesting world we live in.”

Despite sharing her thoughts in various other tweets, she still feels like the internet is canceling her for expressing her own thoughts.

“if you don’t conform to popular opinions. but ask questions and think for yourself….you get cancelled.”

In a now-deleted tweet, Wright even responded to one individual who tried to explain some of the research behind the COVID-19 vaccines.

Above all, Wright says she never intended to hurt anyone, she just wanted to express her thoughts and concerns about the vaccine.

“my intention was not to hurt anyone, my ONLY intention of posting the video was it raised my concerns with what the vaccine contains and what we are putting in our bodies. Nothing else.”

Her Marvel co-star Don Cheadle also tweeted his opinions on the video Wright shared. After watching parts of it, he called the whole video “hot garbage.” However, he still doesn’t think Wright should be canceled over it.

“jesus… just scrolled through. hot garbage. every time i stopped and listened, he and everything he said sounded crazy and fkkkd up. i would never defend anybody posting this. but i still won’t throw her away over it. the rest i’ll take off twitter. had no idea.”

Despite his efforts, Black Panther fans on the internet still have a lot of thoughts about the situation.
