In a recent interview with Metal Injection, Delain mastermind Martijn Westerholt (ex-Within Temptation) mentioned four fifths of Delain shockingly exiting the band in 2022 and releasing a brand new album with a brand new lineup.
“I believe [there are] wholesome nerves, but in addition loads of pleasure as properly. And it is simply been one hell of a journey, actually. Yeah, it actually makes you are feeling alive, for example that,” Westerholt shared.
“Final yr I used to be actually nervous with the discharge of our first single in the summertime. Man, it was like probably the most nerve wracking moments of my profession as a result of, certainly, we had a break up. And naturally the entire band broke up, after which I needed to assume after we broke up like okay, is that this the top? Are we going to proceed? If that’s the case, how are we going to proceed? And you then’re at that second that you simply launch your first single with a brand new vocalist. Man, that is fairly a second.
“And Delain actually had a really loyal fan base and nonetheless has a really loyal fan base. And , that is the most important problem, to persuade these folks. And you’ll by no means persuade all people, and with a vocal change that all the time occurs. However I actually really feel spoiled and blessed with all of the responses and I am so completely happy.”
