Meshuggah is celebrating 15 years of ObZen with a newly-remastered model of the album. The basic 2008 album is remastered and “sonically up to date” by Thomas Eberger and Sofia von Hage of Stockholm Mastering for its March 31 launch, and you may take a look at the brand new model of “Electrical Crimson” beneath.
Very similar to how I felt about “ObZen,” this new model of “Electrical Crimson” simply has a sure heft to it. The bass feels a bit extra crammed out, the manufacturing feels rather less edgy, and the entire thing simply packs an additional punch. Which is nice, as a result of the unique ObZen all the time felt just a bit brittle.
ObZen was notable Meshuggah‘s first album with bassist Dick Lovgren and in addition noticed the return of drummer Tomas Haake, whose drums have been programmed on Catch ThirtyThree. Pre-orders for physical copies are available here.
