After greater than a decade off, Bay Space thrash steel legends Forbidden are reuniting as soon as once more and can make their solely European look in 2023 at Belgium’s Alcatraz Metallic Competition in August. Along with its founding members, guitarist Craig Locicero and bassist Matt Camacho, the reunion lineup consists of guitarist Steve Smyth, drummer Chris Kontos and vocalist Norman Skinner, the latter of which is changing the now-retired and sober Russ Anderson.

Locicero commented on the band’s rebirth: “First off, I did NOT see this coming. When Forbidden quietly disbanded the second time in 2012, I figured it was over. Whereas I at all times apply the ‘by no means say by no means’ mantra to my life, Russ made it clear that he was utterly completed with touring. My wingman and fundamental dude from the conception of Forbidden Evil, Russ was my mentor and the man who purchased me beer once I was 15! I could not think about Forbidden with out him, so I had little hope of a future with Forbidden. At the moment Russ is fortunately retired and dwelling the sober life. I’ve nothing however love for that and him. Everybody must respect his needs like we do.

“So then ….. quick ahead 11 years after our final present, Bay Space vocal expertise Norman Skinner walks in to assist us rehearse and sing just a few thrash classics for the Bay Space Interthrashional set at Dynamo MetalFest 2022. WHAMMO! That is when all of it occurred by chance. Actually. Then it occurs AGAIN when Norman sings ‘Chalice Of Blood’ onstage alongside Warbringer on the one Bay Space present of Bay Space Interthrashional. Holy fuck! We are going to go into element completely within the upcoming weeks. It is a tremendous and natural development story to inform.

“I now can announce that alongside my brothers Matt Camacho (bass) and Steve Smyth (guitar) we’re formally introducing Norman Skinner (vocals) and Chris Kontos (drums) to the Forbidden household. So far as Kontos goes, he is nicely referred to as one of many Bay’s absolute best and most revered drummers. Chris’s work in Machine Head and Perspective Adjustment alone are legendary. Traditionally he is sat behind the package in with Exodus, Death Angel, and Testament to call few. I have been fortunate sufficient to play music with Chris prior to now and current as nicely most just lately with punk legends The Boneless Ones. We work amazingly nicely collectively and have remained nice pals for over 30 years. In a protracted line of wonderful drummers… Bostaph, Jacobs, Hoglan, Hernandez and Horn… Kontos is the proper match for Forbidden. Having 5 folks all transferring the identical route with enthusiasm and positivity. It is all I’ve ever wished with Forbidden. Making the seemingly unattainable, potential.

“This isn’t a reunion, it is a rebirth.”
