A BROADWAY present with MUSIC ROW roots simply landed 9 TONY AWARD nominations. Musical comedy SHUCKED, which opened earlier this month at NEW YORK’s NEDERLANDER THEATRE, discovered itself in a three-way tie for second most nominations when the TONY contenders have been revealed this morning (5/2), incomes recognition for Finest Musical, Finest Ebook of a Musical, Finest Unique Rating Written For The Theatre, and two nominees within the Finest Efficiency By An Actor In A Featured Position In A Musical class, amongst different classes.
It options songs by three-time GRAMMY Award-winning songwriter SHANE McANALLY and 10-time GRAMMY nominee BRANDY CLARK, and is produced by NASHVILLE mega supervisor JASON OWEN of SANDBOX ENTERTAINMENT, all of whom earned TONY nods TODAY. McANALLY and OWEN are co-Presidents of Nation label MONUMENT RECORDS, and McANALLY can also be co-owner and CEO of MUSIC ROW publishing firm SMACK.
The TONY AWARDS will happen on SUNDAY, JUNE eleventh, with the present set to air on CBS and PARAMOUNT+.
