Vocalist André Meyrink Meyrink explains: “This album transports the very features of struggle and what struggle causes to you mentally fairly excellent. It’s stunning, fanatic, dramatic, and miserable in equal measure and virtually devoured me. Undoubtedly no easy-listening stuff, however an album that grows and grows just like the horrors of martial destruction.”
Guitarist/songwriter Tobias (AKA Gilles de Rais) delves deeper: “With Weltende, we did once more what we want essentially the most – time travelling. Our vacation spot of alternative was the troubled interval earlier than the daybreak of the monstrous sin of the twentieth century – the Nice Battle. An artwork referred to as expressionism gave hints of the abyss that the European continent and its residents would get thrown into. Particularly authors like Georg Heym, Jakob van Hoddis, Georg Trakl, or Gottfried Benn would paint of their poems with drastic metaphors of struggle, demise, and decay an image of a moribund world overpopulated by lunatic and doomed souls. A lot of these younger males wouldn’t develop previous and by no means have the ability to stay a life past their apocalyptic visions. This album, for which we respectfully borrowed a handful of concepts, is devoted to them and their legacy.”
