Lead vocalist/guitarist Björgvin Sigurðsson on “Ratatoskur”: “We proudly current to you all our sixth studio album, Ýdalir. It has been 5 years since we launched our newest album and it’s about time we give our followers some new music. By the tip of 2019 we had already determined to provide the band a little bit break, give ourselves time to mirror and recharge the batteries after busy and eventful first ten years of Skálmöld. After which Covid occurred. So the break might need been a little bit longer than supposed. However I can actually say that we’re again stronger than ever, stuffed with power and starvation to make new music and current it to our followers. And Ýdalir is proof of that. The six of us can simply say that it is perhaps our strongest launch thus far, stuffed with power, catchy melodies and heathen epicness.
“The primary single we give to you, “Ratatoskur”, is all that. Pushed ahead by a catchy and folky melody. However nonetheless heavy and epic. All you’d count on from a tune dedicated to the squirrel who runs up and down Yggdrasill, bringing messages from the eagles atop the world tree to the serpent Níðhöggur who dwells beneath one of many roots of Yggdrasill, proper?
“Ýdalir is an album we’re tremendous excited to current to you all and hope you prefer it as a lot as we do. It’s about time we offer you some new music. So take pleasure in! Skál!”
