Vocalist Tom Templar feedback: “We have celebrated British witchcraft in our lyrics since our first EP, and with this new single we wished to have a good time probably the most iconic witch of the trendy period – Maxine Sanders. The Excessive Priestess on the coronary heart of Alexandrian Witchcraft, Maxine is an unsung nationwide treasure, and one of many first folks to attach real witchcraft with rock ‘n roll again within the early Seventies. “Maxine (Witch Queen)” is a love music to Maxine from the attitude of a member of her coven, and melds pounding riffage with psyched-out combo organs and stacked, multi-layered vocal harmonies. We had been honoured to have a number of members of Maxine’s actual life coven seem within the music video, and advise on the ritual components. Finally, the music is meant as a celebration of Maxine Sanders, which we hope will introduce new initiates to her life’s work, and assist her legend to stay on.”
