Fugitive, the band that includes Power Trip guitarist Blake Ibanez, headlined a present on the Mohawk in Austin, TX with openers Dresscode and Ninth Circle on December 1. The present was billed as having a “very particular visitor”, and after Fugitive‘s “headlining” set was over – and Ibanez stayed on stage – it turned clear who that visitor was.
Power Trip took the stage for the primary time because the dying of vocalist Riley Gale on August 24, 2020 with Fugitive vocalist Seth Gilmore filling in behind the microphone. Outdoors Gilmore, Power Trip was their basic lineup of Ibanez, Nick Stewart, Chris Whetzel, and Chris Ulsh. The setlist was:
- “Soul Sacrifice”
- “Executioner’s Tax (Swing of the Axe)”
- “Hornet’s Nest”
- “Manifest Decimation”
- “Crucifixation”
So how’d they sound? Fucking nice. Who is aware of if Power Trip has plans to proceed on with Gilmore as their new vocalist, however we might be greater than down in the event that they did. Dude sounded superior.
