Meshuggah‘s efficiency on the 1997 PopStad awards in Umeå was an attention-grabbing one. Principally due to the melodica solo by vocalist Jens Youngsters across the 13 minute mark in the course of “Soul Burn”. Truly, it is completely due to that purpose.

In all seriousness although, Meshuggah in 1997 was nonetheless a power to be reckoned with regardless of their youth (and the truth that they solely had two albums out on the time). The present ran as follows:

0:35 – “Humiliative”
5:45 – “Transfixion”
9:50 – “Soul Burn”
16:50 – “Future Breed Machine”
23:00 – “Sickening”
