Pelican – Releasing 2-Track EP This Week

This coming Friday, instrumental post-metal/post-rock masters Pelican will put out a model new two-track EP dubbed Adrift / Tending the Embers. The latter marks the band’s first new music since 2019 and the primary songs written with the unique lineup since 2012. Tecorded at Jamdek and blended at Hypercube by Sanford Parker. Mastered at Boiler Room by Collin Jordan.

Since reuniting with founding guitarist Laurent Schroeder-Lebec in 2022, Pelican have been taking part in career-spanning reside units in assist of Thrill Jockey’s expanded reissues of the group’s first three albums. Energized by the preliminary run of exhibits and the invite to report a pair of canopy songs for Numero Group’s twenty fifth anniversary, the band started writing once more in early 2023. As the excess of fabric started to amass and it turned clear there was greater than album’s price of fabric taking form, the band booked studio time with longtime collaborator Sanford Parker with a view to share the burgeoning new route with followers earlier than later. The ensuing two track EP is offered digitally from all DSPs and as a restricted version tape solely through their Bandcamp web site.
