Former Delain vocalist and prolific solo artist Charlotte Wessels has introduced her new document The Obsession for September 20. Wessels is now streaming a hopeful (and musically heavy) new single “The Exorcism” alongside a music video by Tim Tronckoe and Claire Stuart of Blond & Blauw Movies.
“I have been considering quite a bit about fears and behaviors I’ve had since I used to be a baby, and the way at sure moments in life I believed I would overcome them for good, however they’d all the time rear their ugly heads once more in time. I hold questioning why,” stated Wessels. “Did I invite them again in? ‘The Exorcism’ is a name for these demons to remain away – but additionally a message to myself and others going through comparable challenges, to hold on – even when they do not.”
The Obsession options Wessels‘ ex-Delain cohorts guitarist Timo Somers, bassist Otto Schimmelpenninck van der Oije, and drummer Joey Marin de Boer in addition to keyboardist Sophia Vernikov. The album additionally options preparations by Vikram Shankar (Silent Skies, Pain of Salvation), cello by Elianne Anemaat, was combined by Guido Aalbers (Muse, Coldplay, The Gathering) and was mastered by Andy VanDette (Porcupine Tree, VOLA, Dream Theater).
