Mayhem Competition initially ran between 2008 and 2015. The competition was then slated to return again in 2020, however was postponed to 2021 due to the pandemic. Mayhem Competition 2021 was additionally cancelled for a similar purpose.
For reference, the ultimate Mayhem Competition in 2015 featured Slayer, King Diamond, Hellyeah, and The Devil Wears Prada as their headliners with help from bands like Whitechapel, Thy Art Is Murder, and Jungle Rot.
