Type O Negative performed their closing present on October 31, 2007 at Harpo’s in Detroit, MI. The band was engaged on a brand new document when on April 10, 2010, frontman and bassist Peter Steele died in his sleep. Type O Negative confirmed they had been executed after Steele’s dying and has caught to it – the band by no means reunited, by no means did a tribute present, nothing.

Now in a brand new interview with the Speak Toomey podcast, Type O Negative guitarist Kenny Hickey mentioned he’d be all the way down to lastly do a tribute present with some completely different vocalists. “I feel so. I might do one thing like that, completely,” mentioned Hickey.

“As a result of at this level, the band appeared to transcend into a complete new technology and stuff. And I feel it will be actually cool to get a few key singers, actual guys, or possibly one man or no matter, to return and do it as a tribute. Completely. Perhaps 4 or 5 reveals, one thing like that. If we are able to get Josh [Silver, former Type O Negative keyboardist] to do it, yeah, [I’d be up for it].”

Hickey elaborated that Silver has been executed with music for fairly a while, and that he’d doubtless be the sticking level. “Josh is simply, like, he is executed with music. He appears like he is moved on, however I do not know. We’ll see. You get nostalgic after a time, what I imply? So that you by no means know. You may by no means say by no means.”

And I imply actually, why not? It is like Type O Negative can be coming again as Type O Negative 2.0. It would be a cool tribute that I am certain a great deal of folks would like to see. I am certain Nate Garrett would answer the call in a heartbeat.

Hickey beforehand weighed in on a hypothetical Type O Negative tribute present again in 2023, saying throughout an interview with Scott Penfold of Loaded Radio: “Folks have approached us to try to reform the band with a singer and go on the street. ‘Trigger everyone needs a cash seize. We personally do not suppose Peter is replaceable by anyone, and it simply would not work.

“A tribute I would like to do. I am certain Johnny [Kelly, drums] would like to do it. I do know Josh [Silver, keyboards] would not do it, as a result of Josh is choosing up physique components in East New York [during his work as a paramedic]. He is not gonna cease that to begin rehearsing. However yeah, we might do it with visitor musicians and stuff. If any person had the thought and acquired it collectively and acquired the logistics collectively, certain — I might be into it.”
