Volbeat frontman Michael Poulsen isn’t any stranger to dying metallic. Poulsen used to play in Dominus again within the ’90s and has made his love of the style through the years very, very clear. Now Poulsen is getting again into dying metallic with a brand new band Asinhell, whose first single “Fall Of The Loyal Warrior” you’ll be able to try beneath.
“We’re very excited to share the primary style of Asinhell with ‘Fall of the Loyal Warrior,'” says Poulsen. “The tune is form of a tribute to bands I really like, like Bolt Thrower, Entombed, Autopsy, Grave, and Darkthrone. They’re the rationale why we will do that within the first place, and we’re proud to put on our influences on our sleeve.
“The album was impressed by late ’80s and early ’90s old skool dying metallic, and one in every of our brightest factors of inspiration was the mighty Loss of life, fronted by the legendary Chuck Schuldiner. There’s a variety of Death in there. Schuldiner is one in every of my favourite dying metallic vocalists, the opposite being our vocalist Marc [Grewe]. So to me, this tune is the mixture of two of my favorites. ‘Let the metallic stream,’ as Chuck would have mentioned!”
Asinhell options Poulsen on guitar alongside singer Marc Grewe (ex-Morgoth, Insidious Illness) and drummer Toft Hansen (Raunchy). Asinhell will launch their debut album Impii Hora on September 29, with pre-orders available here.
Predictaby, Steel Blade founder Brian Slagel was stoked on the band. “It is such a dream come true for me to get to be on fucking Steel Blade Data,” Poulsen exclaims. “After they mentioned they wished to place out the album, I felt like I used to be 17 years previous once more. I used to be like, ‘Oh my God, I am making a take care of Steel Blade! How cool is that?’ It was like I used to be lastly getting the document deal I dreamed of after I was a young person.”
